Fed. is a family meal planning app operated by Mahoric AI Inc. This policy explains what information Fed. collects, how it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.
Who Fed. is for
Fed. is designed for parents and adult caregivers. Children do not create accounts or use Fed. or its AI features independently. An adult enters and manages any child profile information.
Information we collect
- Account and identity information: an anonymous account identifier is created on first launch. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive the Apple account identifier and any email address Apple makes available, which may be a private relay address. We do not receive your Apple password.
- Family profiles: first names or nicknames, whether a profile is for a child, age bands rather than birthdates, dietary preferences, allergies and custom allergy terms, likes, dislikes, picky-eating level, and household grocery budget.
- Planning and household content: household name and membership, meal plans, grocery lists, favorites, invite records, custom recipes, recipe ingredients and directions, and optional recipe photos you choose to upload.
- Waitlist and support information: an email address submitted to the Fed. waitlist and information you include when contacting support.
- Purchase information: a pseudonymous billing identifier, product and subscription status, entitlement state, and related event timestamps. Apple processes purchases. Fed. does not receive your payment card details.
- Website usage information: a random identifier limited to the current browser tab, general device category, referring website host or campaign tags, sections and questions opened, time-based engagement, and App Store button clicks. Fed. does not use website analytics cookies or store full browsing URLs.
- Technical, analytics, and security information: our service providers may process basic app, device, network, IP address, request, crash, and privacy-filtered product-event information needed to deliver, improve, secure, and troubleshoot the service. Product analytics excludes names, emails, meal or recipe text, grocery text, searches, allergies, feedback text, invite codes, and payment-card information.
How we use information
We use this information to create and recover accounts, personalize meal filtering, operate shared households, build plans and grocery lists, store custom recipes and photos, verify subscription access, provide AI meal suggestions, understand whether the website leads people to the App Store, improve reliability and core product flows, prevent abuse, answer support requests, and comply with legal obligations.
AI meal suggestions
When you request AI meal suggestions, Fed. sends OpenAI a limited structured payload containing age bands, child or adult status, dietary preferences, allergy terms, likes, dislikes, picky-eating level, a broad budget band, requested meal slots, and metadata for pre-filtered recipe candidates. Member names, account email addresses, recipe photos, and support messages are not included. OpenAI selects only from candidate recipes supplied by Fed.; AI output is validated and filtered again before it is shown.
Photos and device permissions
Adding a custom recipe photo is optional. If you grant photo-library access, Fed. receives only the image you choose and uploads it to your household's recipe storage. You can use Fed. without adding a photo. Fed. does not request microphone, contacts, or location access.
When information is shared
We use service providers only to operate Fed.:
- Convex provides authentication, database, server functions, and file storage.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, and subscription management.
- Superwall presents paywalls and helps synchronize purchase and entitlement status.
- OpenAI processes the limited meal-suggestion payload described above when you request that feature.
- PostHog may receive privacy-filtered product events for aggregate analysis without creating person profiles.
- Sentry may process crash and reliability information when crash reporting is available in the installed app version.
These providers are expected to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable requirements. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction where the recipient assumes the obligations in this policy.
Fed. does not sell personal information, show advertising, or use cross-app tracking.
Children's information
Fed. is parent-directed. A parent or adult caregiver controls the account and enters only the child profile information needed for family meal planning. Children cannot create accounts, receive targeted advertising, or send information directly to OpenAI through Fed. Contact us to review or remove child profile information associated with your household.
Retention and deletion
Account and household information is retained while needed to provide Fed. You can initiate account deletion in Settings. If you are the only household owner, deleting the family removes its profiles, plans, lists, favorites, custom recipes, and stored recipe photos. If you leave a shared household, shared household content remains available to the remaining adult members while data tied only to your account is removed. An owner may need to transfer ownership or delete the family.
Deleting your Fed. account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Subscriptions must be managed separately through your Apple Account. Limited records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or time-limited backup recovery.
Waitlist and support records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for launch communication, support, security, and legal obligations. You may ask us to remove them.
Raw website and product analytics events expire after 180 days. Aggregated counts may be retained longer because they do not contain message, meal, family-profile, or payment details.
Your choices and rights
You can edit family profiles and planning information in Fed., decline optional photo access, manage Sign in with Apple through your Apple Account, manage subscriptions through Apple, and delete your account in Fed. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, object to certain processing, or request deletion of personal information.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated household access and server-side authorization. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Fed.'s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be revised when changes are published.
